A 70-year-old woman and her son were threatened at knifepoint and tied up.
Two men wearing balaclavas broke into the home in Blackman Avenue, St Leonards at around 3pm yesterday taking gold jewellery including rings, bracelets, earrings and watches.
Inspector Adam Hays said: "This was a frightening and cowardly attack on a vulnerable victim.
“Luckily neither her or her son were hurt in the attack.”
The suspects are described as both white, 5'8-10", of slim build and spoke with local accents.
