One man will be dancing not just the night away but the whole week.

Steve Stevens, 35, from Portslade, is aiming to break the world record for a dance marathon.

But to do so he will have to keep moving for more than 126 hours continuously.

The owner of the former Pier nightclub in Worthing will be allowed to rest for just five minutes of every hour.

He said: “I’m planning to pace myself for the first four days but then, if I’m feeling good, I’m going to start dancing like I usually do.

“I’m hoping to beat the record by a good six hours so I can round it up to 130 hours.”

Steve is taking on the challenge from 8am on Tuesday, March 8, and will be raising money for St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield, where close friend, Rebekah Stanley, was cared for in her final days.

The club is due to reopen as Angelik in the next few months.
