By day he defends the rights of homeowners and businesses.
But by night he defends the right to make great music.
Lawyer Martin Allen has an alias which until days ago only his closest relatives knew about.
The 63-year-old grandfather is not just a suited and booted legal eagle, a partner in high profile Sussex and London firm DMH Stallard, whose speciality is property litigation.
He is also a singer who has just released an album called Rational Anthem.
Father-of-three Mr Allen, who is married to Scilla, 63, said he hoped to preview many of his songs at a staff party next month.
Up to 500 employees will be at the party – the perfect time to enjoy Mr Allen’s blend of jazz and folk.
Mr Allen lives in Shoreham and works at offices in Brighton, Gatwick and London.
