A charity is offering a prize for innovation.

The Aldridge Foundation has put up a £10,000 prize fund to help put into practice the best new idea created at a conference.

CityCamp Brighton will bring together businesses, local government and community organisations to discuss how the internet will shape the future of the city. The Aldridge Foundation helps entrepreneurs achieve social change.

The prize will take the form of a development fund to help the team behind the best idea work with the public services over six months to deliver their vision.

Event organiser Anthony Zacharzewski said: “We’re very pleased and proud that the foundation has given us, and the city’s innovators, this level of commitment.

“Most of all we’re hugely excited to be able to turn some of the ambitions and ideas of City- Camp into real change.”

The CityCamp event is produced by three Brighton-based organisations: The Democratic Society, NixonMcInnes and Public- i, in collaboration with City- Camp. The three-day conference will take place between March 4-6 at the Sallis Benney Theatre, Grand Parade, Brighton and Hove Town Hall.
