I got up at 6.30am this morning feeling slightly weary after yesterday's exploits. I packed my smart clothes into the Brompton bag and pedalled off again to Brighton Station. I caught the 8.13am to Victoria and then embarked on another intrepid ride across London - Buckingham Palace, up the Mall, Trafalgar Square (I must admit I walked that bit) and on via the Strand to Bloomsbury and the British Medical Association's extremely grand offices on Tavistock Square to chair a meeting of the Mental Health Network. This is my old stomping ground, as I did my nursing training at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, just off Queen's Square.

In case you ever go to the BMA, I can recommend their nice coffee and lovely showers...

We had presentations and discussions about the new public health strategy, the mental health care of people in prison, and some positive discussion on the future of the NHS Confederation. That's me with Sir Keith Pearson, chair of the confederation, and Steve Shrubb, director of the mental health network.

After the meeting, I cycled back to Victoria. The weather was glorious, and there were bulbs coming up in St James' Park. I was very pleased to see lovely colleague Heather Harper walking back to Victoria from a meeting - she can corroborate today's cycling tales.

I was home early in time for a teleconference about the future of our IT services, other phone calls and emails.

Tomorrow I will just be pedalling around Brighton and Hove. I have another meeting in London next week and in that post will share my views of London cyclists.

It was great to look at the JustGiving site just now and find that my neice and nephew's two cats have sponsored me - thank you Moppet and Mittens x
