A teenage girl was found hanging after enjoying a night with friends.

Hannah Marchant, who was described by housemates as the “sweetest girl”, was found at her home in Roderick Avenue, Peacehaven.

The 17-year-old, who was studying for a diploma in travel and tourism at Sussex Downs College in Lewes, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, but was died later on Saturday morning.

Yesterday, friends, who said Hannah had previously lost her mother, described how the dedicated student had been laughing and joking hours before she was found.

Housemate Luke Hooper, 25, said: “Hannah really was the sweetest girl.

“She was a real girly girl. She was into girly things and always wore pink clothes with patterns on.

“She was so pretty.

“Hannah had so much to live for. She was taking driving lessons and was studying at college.

“She loved college. She went everyday, she never missed a lesson. She loved it.

“She wanted to do something with her life, maybe become a teacher.”
