Safety incidents at Sussex hospitals resulted in the deaths of ten patients and harmed almost 1,500 others in just six months.
Information published by the National Patient Safety Agency gives details of mistakes, accidents and other problems reported to it by hospital trusts.
Incidents can range from a patient falling out of bed, being given the wrong medication and slips, trips and falls.
Hospital managers said the deaths may not have been directly linked to any mistake or incident.
