A hospice is expanding its services and looking to the future as it opens its new home next week.
The first patients will be moving into the £13.5 million St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing on Tuesday.
The number of inpatient beds has gone up from 18 to 20 and patients using the day centre will increase from 14 to 18.
Hospice staff also plan to expand and develop their community services in homes across the Worthing, Shoreham and Littlehampton areas.
The hospice had been based in Columbia Drive for 38 years but needed a new home to provide more room to cope with demand.
Following a successful fundraising campaign it has finally been able to move into a new purpose-built home in Titnore Lane.
However the hospice, like many charities, is facing a tough financial time and needs to keep a close watch on every penny it spends.
