The widow of a man whose body was found in a burnt out car has paid tribute to her “loyal and devoted” husband.

Steve Kent, who was found dead in his Rover saloon, had been due to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary to his wife Jacqui.

The 50-year-old, who also leaves children David, 23, Jonathan, 21, and Rebecca, 17, owned the Chocolate Box newsagents in Felpham Road, Felpham, near Bognor.

Mr Kent’s body was discovered by firefighters who were called at 5.25am on Thursday to remote Climping Lane, near Climping Beach, Climping, after people nearby reported hearing an explosion.

The spot he was found is about a ten-minute drive from his family home above the newsagents.

Mrs Kent said: “He was devoted to us."
