Two men have been released on bail after a woman and man were injured in a stabbing.

Officers were called to Jubilee Road, Bexhill, at about 1am on Saturday after reports of a dispute in the street.

On arrival they found that a 20-year old local man had suffered stab wounds to his arms and stomach.

A woman in her 50s had facial cuts.

Both were treated at Conquest Hospital but discharged later that day.

A 28-year-old man – the son of the woman who was injured – was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The 20-year old was arrested on discharge from hospital, also on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Both were released on police bail on Sunday to return on April 30.
