Three of the city’s prime sites will remain empty during this year’s Brighton Festival Fringe.
Bosses have confirmed nothing will be staged at the Old Steine, St Peter’s Church or The Level in May.
In January staff said they were considering plans from a number of promoters to stage events on the site and it was hoped something may also appear at The Level.
However, for the first time since the organisation became an independent company five years ago, there will not be a venue on any of the three sites.
Instead bosses say there will be more focus on the free Fringe City events, which take place during the weekends.
