CAN anyone from Southern Railway explain why the company has removed toilets on its coastal route trains?
For anyone who wants to travel on a coastal route, as my disabled step-son did recently from Shoreham to Portsmouth (a journey lasting more than one hour), there are no onboard toilets.
There are many people with medical conditions who need to use a toilet at frequent intervals – let alone disabled, pregnant and unwell people who might need the privacy of a toilet during their journey.
If Government policy is to get people using public transport, it needs to have basic toilet facilities on board. So think again Southern Railway.
