Fire has ripped through a fish and chip shop.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at Beach Break Fish and Chip in the King’s Road Arches, Brighton at around 3.30pm this afternoon.
Eight fire engines have been called to the scene among fears that the fire could spread to neighbouring shops and because there are fears that there maybe people trapped inside.
The fire was put out around two hours later and three people were led to safety from the blaze.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area between the Aquarium roundabout and the Grand Hotel where the A259 is temporarily closed.
Umi hotel on the Kings Road has been evacuated because of the smoke and residents have been directed to the Brighton Centre.
