IN ALL my years of walking around Queen’s Park pond, I have never seen it in the state it’s in now.
I went up there on April 15 and counted the geese.
There were eight in all.
The previous time I counted them, there were ten.
Perhaps the fox that feeds every night has taken one, as it sometimes leaves some of the food I put out. Perhaps he is full up after eating too much goose.
Can somebody from Friends Of Queen’s Park tell me what they are doing to protect the geese from the foxes at night? At the moment, the geese cannot even swim in the water as it is too low.
It was a great park in my youth – you could sail boats in it and it was much cleaner, and not the ghastly thing it is today. It is a disgrace to the city of Brighton and Hove.
