B&Q could save dozens of Sussex jobs.
The DIY chain's parent company, Kingfisher, has reached an agreement to buy up to 31 stores owned by the troubled Focus DIY chain.
But last night administrators Ernst & Young were staying tightlipped about which of the 149 stores in the group would be snapped up in the £23 million deal.
All of the Focus DIY stores are currently still open for businesses.
Simon Allport, joint administrator, said: "This deal represents an exceptional outcome for creditors of Focus Group DIY.
"The joint administrators will continue to trade all of the group s stores and will seek further offers for a going concern sale of the group s business and assets."
