Marilyn Monroe was back on Earth for one evening and brought some friends. This was a vibrant, funny and expertly-performed cabaret with a modern twist. Great performances, great music, great production and hilarious fun.

Also down from heaven for the evening were Elvis, performed by Jim Deveraux, and Frank Sinatra, performed by Paul Roberts. Both were pitch perfect – Elvis had both men and women dancing and shouting for more, and Frank had lines of people kicking along to New York, New York. Jessica Rabbit performed her smoking number from the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and wonderful harmonies came from the Spinettes – a trio of West End starlets who looked and sounded like they had stepped straight out of the 1940s.

The artists were all fantastic – incredible voices and performances –but Laura Nixon as Marilyn stole the show. It was obvious the performers had all studied their alter-egos but Laura encapsulated Marilyn in looks, moves, voice and the chat with the audience. From the perfect opening, My Heart Belongs To Daddy, to a delicately ambiguous ode to her ukulele, this was a 24-carat performance. A fabulous, fantastic, fun and feel-good show.
