A teenager offered more than just a second-hand sofa on the internet site Freecycle.

The 19-year-old, who described herself as a blonde, said she was: “Giving away my sexual favours, free”.

The saucy advert was spotted on Brighton’s Freecycle site on Saturday and has had so much interest; the woman has requested to stop receiving emails.

The website, which has millions of members worldwide and thousands in Brighton and Hove is used to advertise goods that are no longer wanted, including computer parts, furniture and plants.

The mysterious woman’s posting, which has now become an internet sensation, states: “I am 19, blonde, and looking for a bit of fun. Any offers?”

She followed up her advert with a cheeky wink icon.

The Argus contacted the woman, a young mother, through the site and received the response: “The email you sent in reply to a post could not be delivered to the person who made the post, as they have indicated that they no longer wish to receive any more responses to it.”

A spokesman for Freecycle said they normally try to prevent personal adverts from appearing on the site.

He added: “The Freecycle Network's main rule is ‘Keep it free, legal and appropriate for all ages.

“We like to think that's a big part of what makes us special.

“And, because each local group is moderated by local volunteers, they are able to quickly remove inappropriate posts.

“We also have a tool which enables other local members to flag posts which they may feel might be inappropriate to these same local volunteer moderators.

“We do also have a rule which does not allow personal ads.

“There are certainly much better forums for than a waste reduction community so it's not generally a problem.”

The advert has now been taken down.
