WE WERE informed that the person accused of killing greengrocer Tony Magdi was charged with manslaughter (The Argus, May 4).
In a road rage attack, it is reported that Mr Magdi was punched once in the head.
In my opinion, it is quite right and proper that a punch resulting in death should be viewed as manslaughter.
It is also reported that six teenagers were jailed for a violent attack on a man (May 4).
The report says that, after having knocking this man to the ground, they were “raining kicks and stamps to the head”.
Logic says that kicking or stamping on a head has the intention of inflicting maximum injury – death.
So why, oh why, were they charged with “violent disorder” and not “attempted murder”?
