An elderly woman who died in a car crash has been named as Patricia Burford.
The 78-year-old, of Primose Hill, Fairlight, near Hastings, was a passenger in a blue VW Polo being driven by an 81-year-old man when the collision happened.
Mrs Burford suffered fatal injuries when the vehicle hit a garden wall at the junction of Canute Road and Fairlight Avenue, Hastings, at 11.30am on Saturday.
She was taken to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards where sadly she later died. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital to be treated for cuts but was discharged later the same day.
Sussex Police Road Policing Unit officers are investigating this incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Glenburn.
