Police will continue searching for missing Portslade father Gary Hampson today.

Mr Hampson, 42, was last seen on January 6 this year when he dropped his daughter off at school.

He has not been seen since and a murder investigation has been launched with officers examining 16 sites along the A24 corridor.

There are just five sites just to look. Meanwhile a vehicle detectives were hunting which had been left at the garage Mr Hampson co-managed in Little Western Street, Hove, no longer forms part of the police’s enquiries.

A Sussex Police statement said: “Sussex Police is continuing to search the A23 corridor as part of the Gary Hampson murder investigation.

“There are five locations remaining and it is expected the search will finish tomorrow.

“The blue Ford Escort van sought by detectives has been located following the media appeal and is no longer an active line of inquiry.

“Sussex Police would like to thank the public and the media for their continued support and assistance in this investigation.

“We will give notification should there be any further progress in the investigation.”
