A bus passenger was punched in the face.
The attack took place on the number 53 Stagecoach bus in a layby near the bus station in Southgate, Chichester.
It is alleged the 33-year-old victim from Bognor was punched in the face twice by the 17-year-old boy, after an argument took place regarding the suspect's girlfriend.
PC Stephen McNally from Chichester Police said: "I am appealing to anyone who was on the bus and witnessed the assault to contact police immediately."
The offence took place at around 11.15am on Friday, April 29.
A 17-year-old boy from East Wittering has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and released on police bail pending further enquiries until 23 May.
