Thieves struck as a disabled woman was getting into her wheelchair.

They stole her purple and black rucksack which contained an Ipod touch, a Nintendo DS with six games, two of which were Zelda games and a gold coloured pen engraved “To Dad with all my love Maria x”.

The incident took place yesterday at 4.10pm in Seaside, Eastbourne.

The 49-year-old victim had parked near Tesco Express and the bag was taken from the boot of her car.

The men ran off in the direction of the Archery Recreation Ground.

PC Trevor Perks said: "This is a despicable thing to do when the victim was trying to get into her wheelchair.

"I am hoping someone will have seen the suspects before or after the incident or know the whereabouts of the contents of the bag."

One of the suspects is described as white, 6ft with very blonde hair. He was wearing a burgundy and blue football shirt.

The other suspect is described as white, just under 6ft with mousy hair and was wearing shorts.
