Detectives investigating a sexual assault on a woman have today released an e-fit of a man they want to interview.

The assault took place in Lansdowne Road, Worthing, near the junction with Heene Road.

The 30-year old victim, who lives locally, was approached by a man who offered to walk her home. He then held her by the shoulder and sexually assaulted her.

The woman pushed him away and was badly shaken, but was not physically injured.

The man is described as white, with a tanned complexion, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 8inchs to 5ft 10inchs, of medium to stocky build with short dark slightly curly hair. He spoke with what is described as a European accent.

Detective Constable Jon Stadius said: “This appears to be an isolated offence.

“If you think you know who this man may be, or if you have any other information which might help, please contact us via 0845 60 70 999. Alternatively you can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The offence took place at 11pm on Tuesday, March 29.
