A 34-year-old man was attacked by four men and received stab wounds to his back, chest and knee yesterday evening The victim was at an address in Manor Road, Hastings, when the incident occurred.
He was taken by ambulance to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, where he remains in a stable condition.
The four suspects ran off in the direction of Milward Road.
Detective Inspector Emma Heater from Hastings CID said: "This is an isolated but serious incident that happened within a private address.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information as to the identity of the offenders.
“Please call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Float or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
