A have-a-go hero rescued his elderly neighbour from a fire in a caravan.
A man living in the Turners Hill Caravan Park in Kingfisher Lane, Turners Hill near Crawley rescued a 76-year-old woman from her home after it filled up with smoke.
The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for smoke inhalation.
Four fire engines from Turners Hill, Crawley and two from East Grinstead were called to the scene at around 9.15pm last night although the fire in the kitchen was out before their arrival.
