Former Mercury Music Prize nominees Electric Soft Parade have donated an exclusive new track to The Argus to mark the 200th Download Of The Week column.
Since September 2007 The Guide has been profiling Sussex bands in the paper and directing readers to theargus.co.uk, where they can download one of their tracks for free.
Among the big names who have already been featured in the column are Blood Red Shoes, Brakes, Levellers frontman Mark Chadwick, Esben And The Witch and Ivor Novello Award nominees The Leisure Society.
But Download Of The Week has also given fledgling new bands a platform to get their music heard by a wider public.
This week’s free download is the demo version of Lily, the lead track from Electric Soft Parade’s new EP A Quick One, which was released nationally on Monday. The band was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2002 for debut album Holes In The Wall.
