A woman who was brutally attacked while she tried to order a drink has described fearing she would be left blinded by the incident.
The 34-year-old, who does not want to be named, was approached by Salim Ali, 33, of Findon Road, Brighton, in the Casablanca club in Middle Street, on December 9, 2010.
After a 'brief exchange of words' he pushed broken glass into her face leaving her with injuries that she is still being treated for.
Ali has been found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and jailed for six years.
The victim received four significant wounds to the face, one across the bridge of the nose, one on the chin and two cuts under each eye, needing a total of 24 stitches.
Speaking of her ordeal, the victim said: "The last memory I have is the glass coming towards my face. I instinctively covered my face with my hands and I could feel the blood on my hands as I took them away from my face.
"I was distraught, I thought there was glass in my eyes so I didn't want to open them. I was terrified I was going to lose my sight."
