A DEMONSTRATION against cuts to disability benefits and services is taking place in Brighton on Saturday, October 22.

Disabled people, carers and supporters will be coming from across the south east as part of the national Hardest Hit campaign.

It marks the first anniversary of the Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review in which it promised to protect the most vulnerable when making cuts.

This protest is also taking place as the Welfare Reform Bill, which will in its current form significantly reduce benefits for disabled people, continues to go through Parliament.

Disabled people, those with long-term health conditions and their families are being hit the hardest by cuts to the benefits and services they need to live their lives.

Many are living in fear of cuts to benefits including Disability Living Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance.

The demonstration will be at Jubilee Square in Brighton with speeches from 11.30am.
