IT WAS interesting to note that the bus service appears to be of a lesser quality in Eastbourne, according to observations by S Dinnage (Letters, September 22).

I don’t dispute this and I nod to his assertion that there is “not as much investment and less overall bus usage”.

But this surely is a bit of a quandary, as I would think it’s obvious that if a bus company does not invest in its services, its service will be used less.

Likewise, if the service is not used as much, there is bound to be less investment.

So, for all our recent gripes about rising prices on Brighton and Hove Bus Company services, which have now taken effect, they are at least tolerable given the level of investment in the company’s fleet of buses and timetable technology.

Of course fares could be cheaper, but while we have an up-to-date, modern service for Brighton and Hove, I’ll be satisfied.
