Police have found the transit van involved in the Hassocks hit and run in which a man died.
Following an appeal for the driver to hand themselves in the Ford Transit was found in Worthing. Officers are now working to find the driver.
At about 4.40am yesterday police attended the A273, London Road, Hassocks, north of the junction with Shepherds Walk, following a report of a man lying injured in the road.
When officers arrived it was discovered the local man in his early 20s had died.
Police are examining the scene and the road has been closed to assist with the investigation.
Inspector Steve Grace, of Sussex Police's road policing unit, said: "The victim was hit by a Ford Transit and I would appeal for the driver to contact police immediately.
"During the collision the vehicle involved would have received damage."
The victim is yet to be formally identified.
