Two men were attacked after confronting a group about their racist taunts.
The 18 and 22-year-old from Saudi Arabia were walking along South Street in Brighton when a group of four men started shouting racist abuse at them.
The pair confronted the group but ended up being physically attacked.
PC Leonie White from Brighton and Hove Response Investigation Team said: “The victims, who were out enjoying the Brighton night life are very shaken by this whole experience. Racist incidents like this are taken very seriously by Sussex Police and will not be tolerated.”
The suspects are described as white and in their 20s.
A 32-year-old Brighton man arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault has been released with no further action.
Anyone with information about the incident, which took place at about midnight on Saturday October 22 is asked to call 0845 6070999 quoting serial 1885 of October 22.
