Guests were evacuated from a wedding reception when the fire alarm went off.
Bride and groom Sarah Booker and Paul Lewis had just arrived at the King Alfred Leisure Centre, in Kingsway, Hove, when they and their 200 guests were told to leave the ballroom.
It is believed the fire alarm went off as caterers prepared food for the wedding in the kitchen. The leisure centre's gym also had to be evacuated.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to scene at about 2.15pm on Saturday and allowed Ms Booker, from Brighton, to sit in the cab while they dealt with the incident.
She said: “We pulled up and everyone was outside holding glasses if mulled wine.
“The firefighters were amused by the whole thing and they invited me to sit in the cab while everybody took pictures.”
The guests were allowed back into the venue about half an hour later.
