Nominations have been pouring in as the hunt to find the stars who work at the busiest hospital trust in Sussex continues.

Hundreds of entries have already been received for the annual Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust annual Hospital Star Awards, There is just one week to go before entries for the 2012 awards, run in association with The Argus, close on May 31.

The annual event, now in its third year, recognises the efforts of all frontline and behind-the- scenes workers at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Sussex Eye Hospital in Brighton.

It also includes Princess Royal Hospital and Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath.

Patients, families, residents and hospital staff are invited to send in their nominations.

You may have been particularly impressed with the care a nurse, doctor or midwife gave you while in hospital.

Or you may want to recognise the receptionist who meets you whenever you go for an appointment.

Perhaps there was a volunteer who went out of their way to help you.

Whatever the reasons, now is the time to give that individual or team the recognition you believe they deserve.

Categories are the same as last year, including the good news story of the year.

This is anything that may have happened that could have led to a good news story in The Argus or made a headline in the paper.

Fill in the form inside today's (May 24) Argus and send it in or pick up a form in the hospital reception.

Winners will be decided by a panel of independent judges.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Corn Exchange in Brighton on September 25 and hosted by comedian Stephen Grant.

Winners will receive prizes donated by local businesses and the runners-up for each category will also be recognised during the ceremony.
