Bus bosses have warned planned improvements to Brighton Station could “significantly reduce” the number of services to the transport hub.

Hundreds of thousands of workers and visitors use the area as a gateway into Brighton and Hove.

To improve the area and make it more welcoming, Brighton and Hove City Council is currently asking people for their views on three plans to regenerate it.

But Brighton and Hove Bus Company has warned two of the three options would mean it ends some services at the Clock Tower or Palmeira Square in Hove.

The council believes the three options to change the road layout at the northern end of Queens Road will open up the area to pedestrians.

The first will see limited changes to the current set-up.

But bus boss Roger French said the other two – making the area entirely one-way or two-way traffic – would affect a number of services.

The closing date for responses is June 15.
