IN RESPONSE to the letter about having to work and not being able to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee (The Argus, May 23), it makes me really angry when people complain about this.

My son works in retail and he never gets a Bank Holiday off.

The only days he gets off are Christmas Day and Easter Sunday – and this is only because the Government won’t let stores open on these days.

He doesn’t get paid extra for working Bank Holidays either.

So, your letter writer is not the only one having to work during the Queen’s Jubilee.
