With regards to the letters about your most faithful readers (The Argus, August 27 and 31), when I lived in Ruskin Road in Hove, my father had The Argus delivered every day except Saturday, when there was a classified version at about 6pm with all the football results inside. He would send one of us to go and collect it.

From a young age I was interested in football, cricket and even horse racing. I was always reading about the Albion or checking the racing results.

Since I have been married and now live in Southwick, I have had The Argus delivered to my house for the past 44 years. Even when I went on holiday, I didn’t cancel them and took great delight in spending hours catching up on all the local news. It’s only recently since I retired (having to watch the pennies) that I’ve cancelled them when I go away.

As I am now coming up to my 73rd birthday in October, I reckon I must have been reading The Argus almost daily for at least 65 years plus!

Colin Goble, Hill Farm Way, Southwick

I have been reading The Argus since 1946. I still have it delivered every day (except Sunday) which is 66 years. Is this a record?

Denise Bennett, Mile Oak Gardens, Portslade

The reader record stands at 68 years. Can you beat that?
