I keep looking at the picture of the young man who was forced to remove the headstone from his mother’s grave by smashing it with a sledgehammer (The Argus, August 20).
What a heart-warming task for a grieving family – unbelievable. Perhaps if the Diocese of Chichester was to supply its rules to all churches and vicars for what shape, size and type of stone and wording is acceptable for gravestones, mistakes would not be made.
May this family and all who are grieving for their lost loved-ones take comfort in knowing they are safe in God’s keeping, as mine are.
