In adding to the parking debate in Brighton, here in Fiveways we have no regulation.

At present, there is a flurry of building work taking place. In the lower section of Waldegrave Road there are about five fairly big schemes in progress.

The problem is that all have skips, piles of delivered materials and a deluge of vans.

Even at night builders seem to think it’s OK to leave their vans outside overnight. Consequently, we have about 20 parking spaces constantly missing.

I realise everybody wants to improve their homes (we’ve just finished ours) but shouldn’t the council, on granting permission, ensure that a maximum of two or three jobs are allowed at any one time with no vans left overnight?

This could relieve an already difficult parking situation.
