Two people from north London have been charged with human trafficking as part of an investigation into the disappearance of teenage girls from social services care while living in Worthing.
Odosa Usiobaifo, 34, from Enfield, north London, is accused of conspiracy to traffick for exploitation and is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Katie Ighha, 25, also from Enfield, was charged with the same offence and will appear at the same court on September 18.
The pair were arrested on Monday as part of an investigation into the alleged trafficking of young women from west Africa into Europe for sexual exploitation.
The arrests were linked to the disappearance of two teenage girls from care of Surrey social services while living in Worthing in April.
The two teenage girls went missing on Good Friday after saying they were going to church. They both arrived in the UK from Nigeria six months before.
One of the girls, police would not say which, was stopped at passport control as she tried to enter Spain and was returned to the UK. The other teenager was not found.
