Two people have been arrested in connection with four burglaries in Crawley.

The series of burglaries took place from April with Asian families particularly being targeted and large quantities of jewellery being stolen.

A man aged 49 and a woman aged 29, both from London, have been arrested on suspicion of committing four burglaries in Crawley.

They have been remanded in custody on other charges by Thames Valley Police and will be questioned by Sussex Police in the coming week.

Police in Crawley have been warning homeowners to be on their guard against conmen.

The burglaries have been happening during the daytime and on a number of occasions a large amount of jewellery has been taken.

The offenders are believed to be both male and female of Asian or South American appearance.

Police said the woman knocks on the door and acts as lookout while the men commit the burglary, possibly wearing fluorescent jackets.
