One of Australia’s best-known children’s stationery retailers has had a bumper opening month in Brighton – outperforming its flagship store Down Under.
Smiggle – the name is a combination of smiles and giggles – opened in Churchill Square on March 13 and promises a treasure trove of quirky stationery for school, homework or play.
Global head John Cheston said: “Our Brighton opening is one of the first steps of a major expansion programme in the UK, where we will open 20 stores by the end of 2014.
“It is a pivotal destination for us and we are glad to be investing so heavily in the area.
“Brighton is a place that really resonates with us and we are confident that the public will embrace our kids’ stationery.”
