THE world’s largest house and pet sitting platform moves into its fifth new headquarters in five years today.

Fifty staff at TrustedHousesitters are relocating to Spaces in, Trafalgar Place, Brighton, making it one of the largest businesses to be housed in the co-working space – with plenty of room for expansion.

Boss Tim Lyons said: “As more and more people turn to the sharing economy to make travel plans, we are the number one pet-friendly option and we’re growing exponentially.

“Recent partnerships with easyJet and Skyscanner are helping us reach millions more members, while making it even easier to make travel and house-sitting plans.

“I’m happy to say that after our fourth year of more than 80 per cent growth, we are on track to arrange more than a million nights of house and pet sitting this year and we’ve found a new headquarters that can cope with this scale.”

TrustedHousesitters connects home and pet owners with caring, verified house and pet sitters who are happy to stay in their properties while they are away to care for their pets free of charge. Unlike a home rental, no money changes hands.

Unlike a house swap, there is no need to have someone stay in your home if you simply want to travel as a sitter.

All arrangements are made through trust, with members building their profiles through references, digital verification and police background checks.

Membership to TrustedHousesitters is £89 a year to join as a house sitter or home and pet owner, opening up a world of unlimited free travel accommodation and pet care across more than 130 countries.

As well as long-haul and long stay sits, the site features many short house and pet sitting opportunities, suitable for those who want to travel within their own country.

TrustedHousesitters was founded in 2010 by Andy Peck and Rachel Martin.

Its community is spread across more than 130 countries with key growth markets being the UK, USA, Canada and Australasia.
