We've all heard of wedding cars and wedding trains – but here’s a wedding tuk-tuk.

Julie and Mark Archer, from Woodingdean, Brighton, have started a business hiring out the three-wheeled rickshaw after buying one for their own special day.

Unfortunately, it took so long to import the tuk-tuk from the Far East they missed out themselves.

But now they are offering the experience to other happy couples.

Julie, 40, said: “We ordered it in April last year but it didn’t arrive until the beginning of the year. We ended up in a Hummer, which I didn’t like but the kids loved.”

The couple, who have three children – Jade, 11, Gemma, three and Jamie, two – parked the creamcoloured tuk-tuk outside a wedding fair last month and the interest was huge.

Julie, a cabin crew worker for British Airways, said: “People love it because it’s something a bit different.

Wherever we go, people stop and take photographs and ask about it.”

Julie and Mark, 35, who owns AWC Cleaning Contractors, are applying for a licence to carry groups of people so they can target more business opportunities. Julie said: “It’s a real head-turner so would be great for adverts.

“At the moment we can only do weddings but with the licence we will be able to do proms and things in the future.”

Wedding packages start from £125. For more information, visit www.brightontuktuk.
