A printing company believes the environment is more important than profits. MCR Print is giving its customers the option to go green using recycled stock or to carry on using traditional materials – but at the same price.

Managing director Max Robinson admits that the company’s involvement with corporate social responsibility does not always contribute to the company’s ‘bottom line’.

But he said it’s imperative for companies both large and small to recognise their place in the world. The firm’s offices, in English Close, Hove, are carbon-neutral and MCR also helps its customers work out ways they can offset the carbon that results from the printing process.

Mr Robinson said: “We practise what we preach. All employees are encouraged to use public transport, bicycles or walk to work and, when using a car is unavoidable, staff and management car-share whenever possible.”

The company supports a number of charities including Demelza Hospice Care for Children, The Edward Starr Charitable Trust.
