A man has been arrested after a man was shot in the chin during a domestic dispute.

Police launched a manhunt for the suspected shooter and arrested a man in his 30s at a house in Appletree Drive, Barnham.

A weapon was also recovered from the address and police are not looking for anyone else. 

A man in his 50s was treated at St Richards hospital for a minor injury to his chin after being shot.

Emergency services were called to the home in Gospond Road, Barnham, at about 7.30am today.

Paramedics are treating the victim, in his 50s, for a superficial wound, police said.

The arrest was made two hours later just after 9.30am. 

Insp Neal Harvey said: "I want to thank the public for their paitence during for any disruption caused while we investigated this incident.

"Officers will remain in the area for some time and anyone wishing to talk to them about the incident should do so."
