An 11-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man who stuck his hand down the child's trousers.
The victim had been on the beach at the end of Macquarie Quay, Sovereign Harbour North, Eastbourne on October 22 at 6.30pm when he was approached by a man.
The man asked the boy's name before putting his hand down the boy's trousers. The boy screamed and the man ran away.
The suspect is described as white, about 30, with blond hair wearing a black Nike top, grey joggers and Nike Air trainers.
DC Claire Linsell said: "Whilst serious, this is an isolated incident and enquiries are continuing. The victim did exactly the right thing by telling his parents what happened. We are now hoping that someone recognises this man and can help us with our enquiries.
