THIEVES tried to break-in to an Army Cadet hall less than a month after stealing its equipment, police believe.
An unsuccessful attempt was made between Monday February 9 and Wednesday February 11 to break in to the hall in Chichester Road, Bognor, police announced this morning.
Sussex Police believes it was the same suspects who broke into the hall on December 29 and stole all the equipment and electrical goods needed to run the club.
PC Jackie Shears said the burglary happened soon after the cadets had achieved an outstanding award from the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex for raising £3,000 for charity.
She added: "Dave Merrett, Sergeant Instructor at the site, says it is not the staff that lose out from these thieves, but it directly affects the young Army Cadets who look forward to the activities that they do each week."
Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously or has been offered equipment relating to the Army Cadets is asked to contact Sussex Police, via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting serial 528 of February 11.
