A 17-year-old girl has died at a house in Ditchling.
The teenager from Lewes was declared dead at a house in South Street, Ditchling, at 10.30am this morning.
Paramedics were called to the house at around 9.15am to a report of a girl in cardiac arrest after she collapsed and was found within the house by a friend.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark O'Brien said: "This is a very tragic incident and our thoughts are with the girl's family and friends at this sad time.
"A post mortem will be held to determine the cause of her death, but until that time it will be treated as unexplained."
The road was closed to traffic as police cars and ambulances attended the house and will remain closed until 12.30pm.
