A man was seen waving a kitchen knife as he pushed a woman to the ground.
Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 27-year-old Hastings woman which occurred in the town's Bembrook Road on Saturday, June 13.
The victim was walking along the road at 4.30pm when she was violently pushed by her attacker. She was not injured.
Her assailant was seen to be waving a kitchen knife around during the incident.
A 29-year-old man from Hastings has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He has been questioned and bailed until Tuesday, 19 July while enquiries continue.
