A MAN found guilty of killing his semi-naked girlfriend in a late-night car crash returned to court less than 24 hours to answer charges over a foul-mouthed Facebook rant.

Minesh Parbat appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with displaying writing with intent to cause harassment or distress.

A day earlier the 36-year-old was told by a judge at Lewes Crown Court that he faced “losing his liberty” after being found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.

His girlfriend Lisa Watling was found at the crash scene in Crawley Avenue in Crawley in March 2014 wearing only her bra and t-shirt with the rest of her clothes in the footwell.

Mr Parbat, of Gregory Close in Crawley, was over the drink-drive limit when he crashed his BMW at 60mph while driving but denied prosecution claims that he was engaging in a sex act with his girlfriend at the time of the fatal crash.

He was also in a state of undress when discovered by the emergency services.

A Facebook post under Mr Parbat’s name appeared online just hours after his guilty verdict criticising the police and the justice system.

He also questioned evidence given in the case and put up more than 20 screenshots of court documents.

Police were contacted at 4.20pm on Monday to reports of the offensive material on the Facebook page and Mr Parbat was arrested at 6.15pm on suspicion of sending an article conveying an offensive or indecent message.

He appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with displaying writing with intent to cause harassment or distress and remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court for trial in September.

He will be subject to a bail application hearing on July 27 and will also appear back at crown court on August 28 for sentencing on his dangerous driving conviction following the completion of pre-sentencing reports.
